New photo exhibition in Riga

Fotoizstāde, ko ir veidojuši skolēni ar īpašām vajadzībām, uzsāk savu ceļojumu pa Rīgu.

DSC_2448-700pixOtrdien, 12. martā, Pārdaugavas izpilddirekcijā tika atklāta fotoizstāde, ko ir veidojuši skolēni ar īpašām vajadzībām no Rīgas, Pleskavas, Sankt-Pēterburgas un Viborgas. Projekta dalībniekus sveica izpilddirektors M.Kalve un Rīgas domes Izglītības, kultūras un sporta departamenta projekta pilnvarotā persona K.Graudumniece.

Jaukus priekšnesumus bija sagatavojuši bērni no Rīgas 3. speciālās pamatskolas, Rīgas 71. vidusskolas, Rīgas speciālās internātpamatskolas bērniem ar dzirdes traucējumiem. Janvārī izstāde bija eksponēta Rīgas Mākslas telpā, tagad, līdz 12. aprīlim, to var aplūkot E. Smiļģa ielā 46, Pārdaugavas izpilddirekcijas telpās.

Fotogrāfijas, kas radītas Igaunijas – Latvijas – Krievijas pārrobežu sadarbības programmas “Eiropas kaimiņattiecību un partnerības instrumenta ietvaros 2007.-2013. gadam”  PHOTOYOUTH projekta “Fotogrāfija jauniešiem. Fotogrāfijas mākslas pieejamība jauniešiem ar speciālajām vajadzībām” ietvaros, pārsteidz ar dziļu emocionalitāti un īpašu pasaules uztveri.

“Caur objektīva skata punktu lietas fokusējas un izskatās citādāk, nekā mēs ikdienā tās esam raduši vērot. Tu tver vienu punktu un fiksē to un vēro, kas sanāca. Radošais process rada mūsos pozitīvas domas un uzlabo garastāvokli, ceļ mūsu pašapziņu,”- atklāšanas pasākumā savas atsauksmes par dalību projektā pauda projekta dalībnieki no Rīgas 3. speciālās skolas.

PHOTO YOUTH: New skills of taking photos results into International Photo Exhibition

An International Photo Exhibition „PHOTO YOUTH” was opened on 18 January 2012 in prominent Riga Art Space in Riga, Latvia. Young people with disabilities from Latvia and Russia have learned the art of taking photos within the Project „PHOTO YOUTH”, which began its implementation in January 2012. Programme financing for implementation of planned activities is 259015, 20 euro.

Staring from the year 2013 project involves already all 12 Riga special schools, but the main partner is Strazdumuiža special boarding school for weak-eyed children. Project partners from the Russian Federation are N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Art College of Pskov District, Centre of complex social services for citizens “Vyborg”, Regional non-governmental organization “Petersburg Parents” and Administration of the municipality “Vyborg region” of Leningrad district.

Project aims to improve living standards and provide equal access to the additional education for young people with disabilities.

Starting from November 2011 in fields like transport and logistics solutions, tourism development, protection of environment, promotion of cultural heritage and cooperation in spheres of culture, sport, education, social and health are implemented 25 Projects. Next activities Photo Youth

Next activities in Riga:
From 29 January to 1st February
Visits to Diena newspaper and Museum of Photography

This activities are organized locally in Riga but each Project Manager from partners should be arrange similar in their cities like museum of photography and local newspaper.

We will send new assignments for teachers to work with the children soon in February.

Book
We will have a book and video with a selection of photos from photographers of all schools. The teachers should be follow the instructions in the next months to how to send the photos to start with the selection.

Video
A video documentary of aprox 10 minutes of duration will be with the book our best business card for the future. Near April we will start to work with the editing and teachers should send footage for the selection. But it is already far away, meanwhile we will follow working with our children becoming amateur photographers.

II Seminar and Photo Exhibition

Teachers with the diplomas of Photo Youth

Two more activities celebrated in Riga, the II seminar for teachers and the Photo Exhibition. More than 100 images taken by children of the project are exposed in the Artspace museum in Riga (Kungu iela 3) till the end of February. In the event assisted teachers, photographers and project managers and we had been interviewed by latvian tv and Latvian radio, you can check it here.

The II seminar was celebrated in the schools #1 in Gertrudes iela.

Riga Lead Partner is working now in the local activities for the children of schools in Riga for the next year 2013. There will be visits to the local newspaper Diena and to the museum of photography in Riga.

Photo Exhibition in Riga: January 18, 2013

Working now in the next big event activity of Lead Partner in Riga with a Photo Exhibition in Riga with 5o photos of the children participating in Photo Youth!. The event will hold on January 18, 2013 and we will dispatch diplomas to the new teachers of the project. This activity will be celebrated by the partners of Photo Youth in their cities. 140 years teaching to blind and impaired children in Latvia: Blind school of Riga

May 2 the Strazdumuiza Boarding School – Training Centre for Blind and Partially Sighted Children (Strazdumuižas internātvidusskola - attīstības centrs vājredzīgiem un neredzīgiem bērniem ) celebrate 140 years of education of visually impaired in Latvia. The blind school for children is integrated in the Photo Youth project with three teachers.
